张小梅为全家做衣服,包括外衣的缝纫机.虽是美国胜家名牌,无奈使用年代太久,磨损太甚，涂作潮买的又是便宜的二手货，所以经常要帮助妻子排除故障。

ZHANG Xiaomei used this many-times second-hand Singer sewing machine to make clothes for the family. The husband’d to repair it for the wife on monthly basis if ever not weekly.

1968年4月底涂作潮遭非法关押前,一直用这把推子给孩子们和自己(光头)剃头.这个源自1950年代的饼干桶曾经服务于一家三代十多口人。

Till illegal detention in end April 1968, Tu cut hair for his kids & himself by this hair cutter. This biscuit box since early 1950’s has served over 10 people of 3 generations of the family.

半个世纪后，这间曾经住过一家七口，兼做涂作潮工作间和实验室的20平米住房，经过装修，成了两个街道干部的办公室，除吊顶电扇外，还安了空调。
